Happy Days Toy Town
Ogden's Nut Gone Flake
(Marriot, Lane, Mclagan)
instrumental
I'm happy just to be with you
And loving you the way I do
It's everything I need to know
Just resting in the afterglow of your...
Love, love is all around me
Everywhere
Love has come to touch my soul
With someone who really cares
No one can deny us
People who once passed me by
Will turn their heads 'round
I'm happy just to be with you
And loving you the way I do, yeah
It's everything I need to know
Just resting in the afterglow of your love
You, yes you have always been here
Feeling deep inside
A feeling that I could not see
Or touch, or try to hide
My love is in and around you
I bless the day that I found you
So listen up baby
I'm happy just to be with you
And loving you the way I do, yeah
It's everything I need to know
Just resting in the afterglow of your love
Love is like a voice in my head
Keeps turning 'round the things that we said
I'm happy just to be with you
And loving you the way I do, yeah
It's everything I need to know
Just resting in the afterglow of your love
Long Ago And Worlds Apart
(Mclagan)
(Lyrics soon)
There she is parading on the quayside
You can find her every night
Ah, waiting for a stevedore from Tyneside -
Why it's René, the docker's delight!
Well, if you just got off an oil tanker
And you've got the readies in the bin
Just make your way down to The Crown & Anchor
Ask for René (ohh, hello ducks!) and you'll be well in.
She's René, the docker's delight, and a ship's in every night
Romping with a stoker from the coast of Kuala Lumpur
Love is like an 'ole in the wall
A line-up in the warehouse no trouble at all
If you can spare the money, you'll have a ball -
She'll have your oars out!
Well, there's a kid of every shape and colour
Safely hid in coal-sheds (double-locked?)
Where it's been said that René is the mother.
I wonder - well, there you go!
She's René, the docker's delight, and a ship's in every night
Groping witha stoker from the coast of Kuala Lumpur
Song Of A Baker
(Marriot, Lane)
There's wheat in the field
And water in the stream
And salt in the mine
And an aching in me
I can no longer stand and wonder
'Cos I'm driven by this hunger
So I'll jug some water
Bake some flour
Store some salt and wait the hour
While I'm thinking of love
Love is thinking for me
And the baker will come
And the baker I'll be
I am depending on my labour
The texture and the flavour
Oh wouldn't it be nice to get on with me neighbours
But they make it very clear
They've got no room for ragers
They stop me from groovin', they bang on me wall
They doing me crust in, it's no good at all - ah
Lazy Sunday afternoon
I've got no mind to worry
I close my eyes and drift away-a
Here we all are sittin' in a rainbow
Gor blimey hello Mrs. Jones
How's your Bert's lumbago? He mustn't grumble
Tweedle dee bite
I'll sing you a song with no words and no tune
Tweedle dee bite
To sing in your party while you souse at the moon - oh yeah
Lazy Sunday afternoon-a - tweedle dee bite - tweedle dee bite - tweedle
dee bite
I've got no mind to worry - yeah - I've got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away-a
Root-de-doo-de-doo, a-root-de-doot-de daai dey
A-root-de doot de dum, a-ree-de-dee-de-doo dee - doo doo ....
There's no one to hear me, there's nothing to say
And no one can stop me from feeling this way - yeah
Lazy Sunday afternoon
I've got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away
Lazy Sunday afternoon
I've got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift a-
Close my mind and drift away
Close my eyes and drift away
Side Two - (Narration by Stanley Unwin shown in Italics)
Happiness Stan
(Marriot, Lane)
Are you all seated comfortable,
too square on your botty ?
Then I'll begin
Once upon a time in the land of dreams
Where the sky was silky soft
and full of coloured dreams
Deep inside a rainbow lived Happiness Stan
in a small Victoriana char-a-banc
Evening will be here quite soon
Stan can sit and watch the moon
Watching as the white light
slowly makes the night bright
Hours slipping by while time stands still
Think of black and black will think for you
It's colours Stan embruses, of the darkness that he knew
For black has stolen half the moon away
Rollin' Over
(Marriot, Mclagan)
Now of course, like all real life stories,
this also begins, once upon a ti-to.
And Happiness Stan, whose life evolved
near a femerald coloured dreamy most,
had his pure existance and his being
in the deep joy and the multi colour of the rainbold.
Oh yes. His home was a victoriana sharowbold,
and this is the fourwheelful of sst sst out the backgrove.
Now as Eaved and his deep approachey,
his eye on the moon, all time some time
deep joy of a full moon scintilating dangly
in the heavenly bode, but now only half.
Oh blow your cool man, he dood this deep thoughcus.
What is the folly of this half disappearing of the moony most.
And as the light did a scintilading change through timely most,
stopped still, and he did a deep thoughcus.
What ! Absloutely smashing flaked he was.
So gathering all behind in the hintermost, he ploddy ploddy forward
into the deep fundemold of the complicading forry to sort this one out matey.
Where at Man he thoucus, where at Man...... oh dear.
Goodbye sunshine I'm on my way
I'll be long time gone by the break of day
Tell everyone that I'm gonna find it
There ain't nothin' gonna stop me -
Rollin' Over, Rollin' Over
Save all your lovin' till I get home
To the sweetest lovin' sunshine that I've ever known
Tell everyone that I'm gonna find it
There ain't nothin' gonna stop me -
Rollin' Over, Shak-do-way
Rollin' Over, Yeah-yeah-yeah...
Now after a little lapse of time,
Stan became deep hungry in his tumbload.
Oh, after all he struggly tricky out several milode,
and anyone would suffer under this.
So suddenly he dood a deep thoucus,
out with his lunchy bag,
just about to do a little nibbload of his mincy meaty, when.......
Here am I
Tiny Fly
May I share your Shepherd's Pie?
What is this strange voice I hear?
Here I am
Look This Way
In the landscape on your tray
There's no need to ask a silly question
If I were you I hope you'd do the same
There's no doubt I'd help a hungry fly out
To see you in a fix it's really such a shame
I'm so hungry
I could die
And no one needs a living fly
My name is Stan
I'm on a quest
Take your fill,
Take nothing less
I am that
That am I
And no one needs a living fly
Now the fly was overwelmed
by this deep generosity of Stan,
to give give give of the foodage.
'Cause all life lassk ssk suf of the foodage, ha!
He look at Stan and said.
Is there anything I can reciprocale,
or do in the joy of return for your generosity,
for giving me food and stuffy?
Stan, I'm looking for the other half of the moon and dangly,
This is my folly, show me where the missing half of that moon.
I don't know, said the fly returnly, but I know someone who know,
if only I were big enough to transporty most.
I would take you there myself, I would do this.
And Stan, having the possey power of the Magicold,
Ah, standed over, roley out the sleevey,
wavely hand, hovery hovery hovery hovery
and out with these magic wordy.
If all the flys were one fly,
what a great enormouse flyfelolifer that would bold, oh.
And there, incredible but oh dear, hovery hovery.
Now the fly recalled with these wordage.
Not only will I transportnum there,
but I will sing it a deep joy of a songload in your eardroves.
That I will Do.
If tomorrow was today
It would yesterday
The sun is surely just a thought away
Where visions that men fail
To put to words to tale
And music that they try but cannot play
You're right it's just a dream, your company so kind
Hold very tightly please and we shall go out.
And so, seaty comfortable on the back of this
enormous buzzymost of the fly, voooop, they tooked off,
like an escaped velocy of the rocket floatin into orbit yeah.
Now after floating high hup, over the mounty,
through the deep valley of thats, for seven whole long days,
they did a very soft and flat belly landiny, if I may put it this way.
Where they landed, a tranquil beauty spot, before a deep fundamold
of a forry. Like August in the undergrowth, there it was.
And the fly said it, I must leave you here, and he pointed here,
with his sort of fly type fingold, it was all feathery feathery, and said.
Mad John, mark me words. He liveth in a cave there,
in this far deep forry, and he will transport for you,
and find it, not only the moon itself, which you looked,
but the philosophy of life to itself.
And Stan had a mutual joy for this, and reach up and cudlymost
of this big fly, and very hard to embrace it and mode mmm qff qff kissy,
and the fly tickled him with his whiskers in his eardrome.
And off he went.
There was an old man who lived in the greenwood
nobody knew him or what he had done
but mothers would say to their children beware of Mad John.
John would sing with the birds in the morning
laugh with the wind in the cold end of night
but people from behind their curtains, said he's not quite right.
John had it sussed he was living the life of a tramp
yes his bed was the cold and the damp but the sun was his friend
he was free
So here was a wise one who loved all the haters
he loved them so much that their hate turned to fear
and shaking from behind their curtains the loved ones would hear.
Happy Days Toy Town
(Marriot, Lane, Mclagan)
And so Stan, walked towards the cave, and in his mind,
mark me word, Mad John, deep thoucus on this,
all a tremblode, looking into the dark,
and peering into the backgrove of black in there,
and then, appeared, Mad John, in fine fine foldy silken robes.
All whitely hair, scintilating beard and dangly,
well the beard must have been 24 years old,
to grow it and grow it, all night lode, what!
And he was glowing, with a friendly light, oh dear, joy,
and a voice full of the Cockney Cockney Cockney,
all joy of life and living, eminate from the cockload of his heartstrings.
Called to see you man ha, what's been your hang-up man hu,
I waiting seven whole days for ya,
not still worried about this scintilating moon and dangly, huh, hu?
Stan, ye, ye, yes, that's why I sortning you out here,
tripply tripply out on the back of this fly who told me, huh.
And John, linked arms with him, and walking out steppa by steppa,
and he pointed with a Cockney forefingold, there, up in the heavenly bode,
what!
Stan realized, now, which it struck him like a smacker o' blueidy,
which coming out ffst turn you never thoucus before.
As the sun rise in the early morny, so the recall of the moon in the eve,
ah, and he thought.
Now, the fly had something extra special you thoucus to say to me, if you
hold.
And John, looked happy, and attracting his earnestly of his eyebolds,
straight nose to nose and eye to eye, hold for it,
Of course, I nearly forgot it, just you listen.
Life is just a bowl of All-Bran
You wake up every morning and it's there
So live as only you can
It's all about enjoy it 'cos ever since you saw it
There aint no one can take it away.
So life is just a bowl of All-Bran - very true!
What you say has made it very clear
To be sure I'll live as best as I can
But how can I remember to keep it all together
When half the moon is taken away?
Well, I've got the very thing
If you can laugh and sing
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smiles
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
When you're untogether and feeling out of tune
Sing this special song with me, don't worry 'bout the moon
Looks after itself
Can I have a go?
Yes
Yeah?
Sing now:
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smile
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
Well now you've got the hang of it
There's nothing you can't do with it
If you're very tuned to it you can't go wrong.
All together!
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smile
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
Well now we've got the hang of it
There's nothing we can't do with it
And now we're very into it we can't go wrong!
So remember, the very special words.
Happy day long toylytown newspaper reading chuckly smile.
They all have a lovely turn.
Gnomespain, Huckelberry fickel tickel my fingold,
huh, boy blue left his horn stuffin under the settee,
and brought his melotrone, and freaked them all out.
Oh what a mindblast. Jacky Jill, knees up Mother Brodie.
Oh what a joy of a trickley howathere.
So I hope you'll turn out three quarters half as lovely won't you
wouldn't half and enjoy it. Study cool won't ya.
Give me those happy days toytown newspaper smile
Clap twice, lean back, twist for a while
Well now we've got the hang of it
There's nothing we can't do with it
And now we're very into it we can't go wrong!
